Courrèges was founded by André Courrèges, Sportsman, in love with light. Studies at Ponts et Chaussées, where he discovers architecture, an art and a technique that will influence all his work. Arrives in Paris in 1945, starts working at Balenciaga in 1950. Opens his couture house in 1961. Thanks to him, women discover pants in 1963. Revolution in 1965. Miniskirt. Creation of Couture Future in 1967, high-end ready-to-wear for all women. Second-skin stockings in 1967 : a Courrèges idea. Courrèges is also perfumes, with the first one Empreinte in 1971, and numerous design inventions... One to follow !

Arnaud Vaillant et Sébastien Meyer, winners of the ANDAM 2014 award and finalists for the LVMH 2015 Prize, have been named Courrèges’ new artistic directors in May 2015. They will present their first collection for Courrèges for SS16, which will be distributed in a limited number of selective points of sale.

Sébastien and Arnaud met in 2009 as students at a Paris fashion school, they created their own brand, Coperni, in 2013. Sébastien studied styling and pattern making, while Arnaud concentrated on the fashion business. Inspired by the Brutalist movement, they take an architectural approach to the silhouette, which becomes stripped-down and minimalist. Form is the foundation of Coperni’s aesthetic language.
